Livery Services

Full livery at Brook Farm Stables means complete care for your horse and peace of mind for you, seven days a week.

At Brook Farm we are small enough to provide all the attention to detail that larger yards might miss, yet we have all the facilities you would expect to see in bigger establishments. We can cater for the requirements of every type of owner, from the serious novice to advanced competitor, the regular hunter, the aspiring leisure rider or the owner of a youngster. We take pleasure in tailor-making our livery packages to suit you and your horse perfectly.

Our standard livery includes:

  • Full use of our facilities
  • All feed and hay, with guidance from our equine nutritionist as required
  • All mucking out, bedding down and skipping out
  • Turning out, bringing in and all associated rug changes
  • Daily health check, including picking out of feet
  • Supervision during visits from vets, farriers and physiotherapists, to save you having to take time off work

Other options include:

  • Grooming
  • Tack cleaning
  • Walking in hand
  • Lungeing
  • Hacking
  • Schooling

Prices start from £350 per month for ponies and £375 for horses.

Other specialist livery options include:

Competition / hunter livery

We will provide full care, seven days a week and in addition will provide the programme of exercise you require to keep your horse at the right level of fitness for your activities.

We can also prepare your horse for competition or hunting, (including immaculate plaiting!) and offer a full after-care service, including washing off, solarium, leg checks and rug changes when you return from an event.

Schooling / backing

Brook Farm’s tranquil setting, together with our quiet, sympathetic and highly experienced approach, provides an ideal environment for backing, schooling and retraining. We specialise in developing a strong and confident partnership between horse and owner before the horse returns to its home yard and offer ongoing advice, support and training to make sure the horse and rider continue to progress well.

Post-operative care, convalescence and rehabilitation

Our large, airy, dual-aspect stables and our quiet, safe yard with 24-hour monitoring, help to encourage rapid recovery following injury or surgery. All care is under the supervision of Juliet Penwarden BHS SM, who also benefits from the experience of working in a large equine veterinary practice. Rehabilitation programmes can be devised in conjunction with vets, farriers and physiotherapists to ensure optimum recovery and return to fitness.
